My very own lappy / pc at 33 years old... me a bit slow, i know.. heheeheh..

I especially like the touchpad.. unlike the conventional touchpad, this one looks 'sturdier'.. can tahan kena water & such.. HAHAAHAH..

Happy, happy, happy!! Now will need to shop for 'accessories'.. haven't even paid for this lappy, already need to spend more $$$ on accessories.. :)

Weekend Trip to Penang

Jaya 'kindly' invited us to stay over at his new place in Penang over the weekend (I think it was 2 weekends ago.. heheheh...).

We took a flight out from Senai airport on Friday nite. Surprisingly, we arrived at Penang almost 1/2 hour earlier! I think this is the first for AirAsia.. heeheheh...

Anyway, to kick-start our jam-packed itenenary (courtersy of Lee the Man), we had supper at one of the more well-known nasi kandar restaurant. Food was good, but a bit expensive. Also, the waiting staff there can't speak Malay!!! Walau lorrr... Jaya had to speak to them in Tamil.. so funny..

Makan & Minum

We had Dim Sum for breakfast. This is the only self-serving dim sum place I've ever been to lorrr... From ordering/collection of dim sum, to adding water for the tea, to paying...

At night, we went clubbing. Liked the band, but the DJ sucks. The place was crowded though, but can't remember the name of the place liao..

Sight-Seeing

Hot Hot Hot day... except on the Sunday @ St Anne's Church.

First stop - Bukit Bendera

Super duper hot and stuffy inside the 'train'. And the officers packed everyone in like sardines!! I guess part of the 'Bukit Bendera' experience is the ride in the train, but the officers thoroughly ruined what could be a scenic and leisurely trip by packing so many people until most people can't even see what's going on.. thumbs down for that.

Next was Kek Lok Si Temple.

The place is HUGE!!! But then arrr... it feels more like Sentosa to me.. parking, need to pay.. take the tram, need to pay (this one ok larr..) then arrr... go to the pagoda area, NEED TO PAY!! walau lorrrrr....

They even had a restaurant serving vegetarian food (with promotion somemore hor.. dun play play) and also sooooo many stalls selling t-shirts, souveniers and stuff!!!

Next day we visited Khoo Kongsi Temple

This is a temple ran by the Khoo Clan. Not as big as Kek Lok Si, but not less majestic. Also charges entrance fee to visit their 'museum'.

Lastly, St Anne's Church.

We had to cross the Penang Bridge as St Anne's is located in the mainland.

Very spacious and peaceful. It started to drizzle shortly after we arrive, and we sat around chatting, until it was time to go for our long-awaited seafood dinner before catching the flight home...

A bit rush for this trip as we packed as much activities as we can for the 2 days. Must make another trip, but at a more leisurely pace :)

'Family' Portrait

I've made the reservation like a month back, and asked for the mezzanine floor, coz I thought it was a private area... when I reached there, I realised it was just a raised platform :S

Anyway...

The Place:
Facing Tebrau Highway, at Tmn Sentosa area. Looks classy but parking is a pain. There's a massage parlour within the restaurant premises itself and also a pub next to it. Heard from friends that the pub is also a part of the restaurant.

The Food :
A bit too spicy for everyone. Not sure if this is what they call authentic. But then again, I've been to Sukhothai @ Eden, and the food was superb, not as spicy as Pattaya's.

Total spent was about RM870. For the environment and service, it was reasonable. But I felt that the portion was a bit too little, and again, VERY spicy.

Thanks to IRENE YEOH horrr, I walked into all the branded boutiques in Ngee Ann today, including lining up to get into the LV boutique!! HAHAHAAHAHH.. recession? What recession??

If I ever get myself a LV bag or the S$900 Burberry bag, please check me in to a mental hospital. Something must be very wrong with my brains, or I'm super depressed.. I may just kill myself while hugging the bag!! HAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!!

Time flies lorr...

I got to know them when I was working in my 2nd company. That was in 2005 / 2006??

My greatest fear when joining a new company?? NO ONE LUNCH WITH ME!! HAHAHAHA!! Laugh all you want, but that's my weakest point.. hehehe...

Luckily for me, Kearin ajak me out for lunch on my first day, together with the rest of buyers, which include Tim & Celeste.

They had this grand story of how they were classmates in university, but didn't know that they were interviewing for the same job in the same company. It was a coincidence that they met again on their first day.. yeahhhhh riteeee... But all of us bought that story lorr... HAHA!!!

AND I was there 'sibuk-ing' trying to cari a BF for Celeste (by the way, the said guy is happily attached now, and have 'guo he chai qiao' liao. HAHAHAH.. hope he's reading this, coz he still owes me abalone!!).

Oh well... over the years (not many years larr.. I was there for slightly over a year only.. hehe.) we grew quite close, maybe due to the long working hours that all of us had to 'suffer'.. but having nice colleagues sure make things EASIER to bear.. :)

Many, many happy memories there, I did enjoy my short stint there. Busy, yes.. but enjoying every minute of it with the support & company of these great colleagues.

I wish the both of you, have a happy & blissful marriage. Remember 10 May 2009 should you reach a roadblock. It was a great day!

And Tim, remember your promise to me. I'm turning 35 soon.. ;)

Sights & Sounds of Bali... Beautiful place :)

Kuta

I guess this is the main tourist spot. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops. I had my hair and the 'tattoo' done there, on the beach!! :)

Shopping at Kuta is rather expensive, compared to elsewhere. But food prices were more or less the same.

Pineapple Fried Rice.

I had this at a nice cozy restaurant called Ketupat. We were actually walking along a row of shophouses in Kuta, towards the memorial. Then we saw a table with a menu on it (with the lightbulb hanging just above the menu! hehehe). It looked interesting, and we walked in through an open space and into a walkway. I didn't expect much at first, but when I walked in, I loved the decor of the place! There was a pool in the middle of the area, with tables around it. We chose to sit inside the restaurant though, coz it was a bit hot & stuffy. Food was good, with friendly staff. Just a bit slow...

Goa Gajah

This is loosely translated as Elephant Cave?? hehehe.. it's a temple of, I think..

The actual cave itself is very small, less than 5 mins and you're done. But I very sua, you see.. So stayed for quite some time around the area to take pix... :)

Kintamani

Beautiful, beautiful scenery. We can only watch it by the road side :S

We drove along a long & winding road uphill, to be greeted by this beautiful scene. Maciam a scene from Lord of the Rings.. hehehehe...

The place was really cool, almost like Genting. Sadly, our experience was marred by the local 'traders'. The moment we step foot on the paveway, a group of traders, mostly women and young children (they are the orang asli, as informed by our driver when I asked later) swarmed us with their 'wares'. Sarongs lar, pencils lar, trinkets larr.. and even ink 'tattoo'.

But then arrrr.. when we agreed to a price for an item, they would turn around and say the price they agreed on is for another item, the ones that we wanted are more expensive!!! That's like cheating lorrr!! That's why some of us ended quarelling with them.

My advise? Ignore them completely. They'll still pester you, but just walk away. You can get better deals for the same stuff elsewhere.

However, all said & done, they are just trying to make a living... Quite sad, really. I heard from our driver (from the villa, while on the way to the airport on the final day) that seafood is very expensive in Bali. Most families can't afford to eat them. The main food are pork & chicken meat. He added that he only bring his wife & 2 children for seafood @ Jimbaran Bay during his wedding anniversary, and he spends around IDR500,000 each time. It's considered as a luxury... We very ho miah horr.. everyday big fish, big meat...

We had lunch there. Surprisingly good and not very expensive.. we had a great view of the temple from the 'restaurant'.

Uluwatu Temple

Lots of monkeys around!!

Make sure you hold tightly to your stuff!!! A monkey grabbed a lady's unbrella coz she was swinging the thing while walking!! And when our driver tried to retrive it, that monkey 'showed' him his two long and sharp teeth!!! Walau lorr.. so fierce!!!!

That sums up my trip. Worth a visit lorrr... My take is if you are not too choosy about the accommodation and don't shop a lot, I think you can do 4D3N under RM1k. Come to think of it, nothing much to buy lorrr...

But for the experience, try the villa. Lots of it in Bali (if you do not want to be too far off from Kuta, choose a villa in Legian / Seminyak area). Pamper yourself a bit larr.. All in all, I spent under RM2,000. Air-fare, accommodation, transport with driver for 2 days at 10 hours per day (airport transfers provided by villa), food, some HardRock t-shirts, some trinkets, tips and not forgetting, an in-house Balinese massage :)

Will definitely go there again. Fingers cross!!!

Back from Bali!!!

Summary of my trip : 13 - 16 May 2009, Wednesday - Saturday. Long post horr.. dun fall asleep lehhh....

Treat this as a reference if you guys are planning a holiday in Bali.. heheheheh.. one of the best part of holidaying is PLANNING for it. Try the forums @ TripAdvisor.com. Plenty of advice and you can post your questions there too!

The Journey

Took AirAsia from Changi Airport, Singapore. We left JB around 5am, and surprise, surprise.. no jam at causeway. We reached Terminal 1 by 6.30am and had breakfast there. Hang around till 8am for the check-in, as our flight was due for departure @ 9.55am.

There was a slight delay and we reached Bali 30 mins behind schedule. Same when we depart from Bali =_=

However, I was quite impressed with the plane. The first time I took AirAsia from JB to KL, the seat I had looked like it has seen better day! But this time, the plane looked new, and the seat was comfy! Hmmm.. happy, happy..

The Villa

After all the drama selecting the villa, we finally got the Garden Villa, managed by Serene Villa.

Upon arrival, a row of drivers were hanging outside the arrival hall, holding placecards with their guest's names. I was taken aback at first, coz there were sooooooooo many of them! hehehehe.. Finally, I spotted my name :)

Once we reached the villa, there were like 4 or 5 guys standing at our villa's doorstep and chanting, "Welcome to Bali", "Welcome to Serene Villa", etc, etc while taking our luggages.. It was all a blur lorrr...

One of them showed us around the villa, and at the end of it, reminded me to lock the wooden door in front, and I was like, "What wooden door??" You see, when we arrived, all I saw was people greeting us and ushering us to the villa with welcome drinks, until I didn't notice that we actually walked in from a door!! HAHAHHAHAHAAH!!! I must've looked so stupid!!!! :>:>:>:>

This is where we stayed - 3 bedroom villa. Serene Villa, Seminyak.

Overall, I was happy with the villa, but thought that for the money I paid (around USD400 per night) the villa could be better maintained. The service was excellent though. We had 2 persons preparing our daily breakfasts in the villa, a gardener trimming the grass and cleaning the pool DAILY and a security guard outside our villa!! I WAS TREATED LIKE A SUPER VVVVVVIP lorrrrr.... Man, love to go there again :)

The Driver

We hired a driver, recommended by a taxi driver we took on the first day, when we went to Kuta from our villa.

He looked like a honest guy, but blurrrrr lor... He needs to ask for directions alll the time!! HAHAHAHAHAHA.. but ok lar.. we not rushing for time.

The cost : IRD400,000 per day (10 hours). That's around RM140.00 for a car that fits 8 person. Super cheap lorrr (Exchange rate around RM1 to IRD2,850).

The Food

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! Love love love the food!!!! And it's not terribly expensive either.

Apart from the first day when we had our lunch in a warung, and dinner at a foodcourt @ Kuta, we had most of our meals in restaurants. Total bill for 8-9 pax for 6 meals, (the driver joined us for 3 meals) @ IRD450,000!!

After lunch on the first day, we took 2 cabs to Kuta Beach @ IDR30,000 each. The moment I stepped foot there, I had my hair braided (IDR80,000) & hand 'tattoed' (IDR70,000) Hehehehe...

We had dinner at an open-air food court in Kuta Beach. Food consist mainly of seafood like grilled squid, Assam fish, etc.

We also had Bebek during one of the lunches. Bebek is actually a duck dish

Looks dry, but NICE!!

We also had pork rib in the same restaurant that serves Bebek.

SUPER GOOD!! It was tender and juicy, with a hint of sweetness.. YUM YUM!!!

But I can't remember where's the restaurant located. The driver told us this is the best recommended restaurant that sells Bebek. It has individual 'huts' for each big table lorrr... very very spacious place. However, the service a bit sucky. No one brought us to the table or hut, we had to walk and look for one ourselves. The when we saw one that we wanted, a waiter shouted at us from afar that the hut was reserved. He then told us to take another hut, which is further in.

Around Bali. The rice field is located in the restaurant itself.

The place was VERY spacious lorrr.. so we need to walk a bit in. Then when we were about to enter the hut, another waitress raised her voice at us, saying that another guest had booked it!!! KNS lorr..

I screamed back at her saying that her colleague asked us to sit there, and that she can check with him if she's not satisfied. I would not have been so irritated if they had been a bit more polite. Thank God the excellent food more than made up for the sucky service. Maybe their business too good liao lorrrr...

For the 2nd night, after all the sight-seeing, we went to Kuta for dinner again. This time, we walked along the road and walked into a restaurant called Ketupat. There's a pool in the middle of the restaurant lehh.. Prices are reasonable but service a bit slow. But the staff are wayyyyy friendlier and apologetic.

Another place that I recommend is the Jimbaran Bay seafood stretch. We went to the driver's friend's restaurant. Can't remember the name again... hehehe...

10 May 2009, Sunday - Tim & Celeste's Big Day!!!!

Kearin and I drove to Celeste's place in Yong Peng on Saturday. We shopped a little (bought a baju kurung there for RM50.. hehehheh..) and had buffet dinner at her house.

The pretty bride and handsome groom (note that I didn't say beautiful bride, coz I'M beautiful, not the bride!! HAHAHAHAHA)

The groom's entourage - buey steady! They just sat around waiting for time to pass, REFUSING to play along with the bride's sisters!! KNS! Tim very suey to have friends like them! HAHAHAH!!!

Anyway, after they got in the first round, all the sisters rush into the bride's room. And I alone was outside.. second KNS! So..... me alone fending off dunno how many guys. Luckily I've got a loud voice, and a violent nature... hehehehe... By the way, if any of you see me shouting in youtube, please let me know horr..... HAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!!

Then hor... after the morning ceremony, we headed off to the groom's place at Kahang. Those heng tai arr.. drive like they're racing in F1 or something lorr... You know how winding the road from Yong Peng to Kahang? My meter was showing I'm going at 120 - 130 lorrr.. and I have difficulties cathing up with them!!! Third KNS!!!

Anyway, after ALL the drama, we proceeded to the school hall for the luncheon. Kahang is not a very large town, the only place that can accomodate 30 tables was the school hall.

This is the first time I used plastic cutleries (including the bowls & plates used to serve the dishes!!) in a wedding banquet! HAHAHAHAAH!!!!

I sat with the groom's sister and her family. Her hubby kelakar larrr... I think he also scared of me liao, coz I kept beating him... and force him to take pix with me.. hehehehehe...

Back at the groom's place, the bride SUPER bo liao coz the groom peng liao..

I've been planning for my Bali trip for quite some time liao..

Once I've confirmed the date, I made the flights booking immediately and that's when my nightmare started..

Before I booked the flights, I went through some websites that introduced Bali in general, and I decided that I WANT to stay in a villa, with a PRIVATE POOL :) Even if I don't use it, looking at it will make me happy :) :) :) :) :) :)

ANYWAY... I emailed some of the villa managements to check out the availabilities and rates. Guess what.. THEY ARE ALL FULLY BOOKED LORRR... my 1st choice, 2nd choice AND 3rd choice.. super walauuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!

Finally, I settled for Villa Tania in Seminyak, which looks very luxurious too. It cost USD$400 a night for a 3 bedrooms villa with private pool.

I've sent them the credit card confirmation, and the next day, the management replied that the villa owners don't like the idea of having 8 Adults and an infant staying in their villa!!! SUPER DUPER KNS LORRR!!!!!!!!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'm jinxed or what???

So now, the latest plan is to stay in a villa next to them, the Serene Garden Villa.. slightly cheaper. But I hope it the holiday itself will turn out well... sighhhhh...

Reunion - Convent JB, Class of 1993

Li Yeng & YW organised this event last weekend, and we had high-tea at Grand Paragon Hotel, JB.

The food was so-so, and the range limited. The dessert segment was very, very disappointing. I guess the buffet at Mutiara was far better than here. For the price we paid, I don't think it's worth it. Not in JB at least.

Anyway, this is not about the food.. heheheh...

The turn-out : Li Yeng, YW, Arica, Chin, Angela, YC, BJ, Yee Voon, SL, Sharmini, Pang. Jeannette came too, but she was there with her family. Sharifah also came later.

When Sharifah came, she mentioned her hubby is an inspector attached to the Sri Alam area. EVERYONE started to ask for her hubby's number!! Why? All of you would-be criminals arrrrr?? HAHAAHAHAHAH!!!!

Well, well.... so long time never see some of them liao.. I think after school till now lehhh...

It's not all about YW this time..

Half-way through lunch, SL went over to talk to a mysterious guy. YW & I started to take pictures of them, like paparazzi!! HAHAHA

After lunch, Arica, Angela, Pang, SL, BJ and myself went to CoffeeBean for 2nd round. Seriously, I was not full after the 3 hours lunch lorr.. hehehehehe...

MJ in SG

No, I didn't see Michael Jackson in SG....

MJ stands for May June.. heheheh...

She was in SG over the weekend, as she said the air fare was too cheap for her to resist!!

I picked her up at Hougang after I finished my work in the office on Saturday, and we drove to Vivocity for lunch.

I brought her to Crystal Jade Dining IN, as I love their String Bean stuffed with Shrimp in Spicy XO Sauce.... I almost finished the whole bowl myself the last time I ate there!! Heheheehehe...

No pix taken during lunch, as both of us were starving!!! We ate so fast, the waitress came and asked us if we wanted to speed up the serving time!!!

Anyway, I think we over-ordered, as we couldn't finish the food... we had 1/2 Peking Duck, a bowl of soup for each of us, Scallop with Salted Egg Yolk (4 pcs only larr), the String Bean and Fried Noodle. Oh, by the way, before the start of the 'proper' main course, we had 2 servings of dim sum - Pan-fried Carrot Cake and Ha Kau.. :) We had to tapau the fried noodle and the duck meat.

We took a walk around Vivocity, as we were too full!!

I've asked her casually sometime back if she'll be ordering cooking wine for her confinement, and she said she's buying it from her sis' mother-in-law. So I asked her to order a bottle for me lorrr...

Then went to collect it yesterday.. FOC lorrr... Thank you worrr!! :)

Long time didn't eat Jiang Jiu Ji liao. The last time I had it was at Ses Lee's house. So thought that I'll try cooking it... heheheh..

Well... I typed in my 'comments' and pressed enter... and then I saw the other window flashing, with Moni & YW names on it...

I was blur for a moment.. THEN IT HIT ME!!!

I ACCIDENTALLY WROTE ON MY BOSS' WINDOW LORRR!!!!!!

Super walau...

I told Moni & YW about it... both were laughing...

I can 'feel' that YW was tying VERY hard not to laugh out loud.... I can just imagine her face at that moment lorr..... =_=

I think the docs nowadays are getting weird...

This is what my nails look like now..

It has been like this since dunno how many moons ago. Went to see a doc 2 mths back, and was given some anti-fungal cream. It didn't work...

Went and see another doctor few weeks back and the doc told me he's never seen that red thing before and told me to go see a skin specialist.. okayyyyyy... that serious mehh....

Nevermind... went to see the specialist that he recommended.. Guess what?

Doc : Oh.. it's pigmentation.. confirmed not blood..
Me : Errr... meaning??
Doc : =_= It's colouring..
Me : Can't be lehh.. I've not painted them for dunno how many donkey years liao..
Doc : Look.. You must've got it somewhere..
Me : But I've not painted them, and it can't be my shoes.. And I've tried using nail polish remover, tried washing it off... but it's still there.
Doc : It's pigmentation.. blah, blah, blah...
Me : I DIN'T PAINT ANYTHING ON IT!!!
Doc : Then someone must've have painted them without your knowledge..
Me : =_=

Seriously, I can't think of any reasons why anyone wants to paint my nails AND without me knowing.. They want to bomoh me arrr???

Annual CNY Dinner + Vsiting

We had our annual Lau Yu Sheng dinner last Saturday @ Grand Straits Garden Restaurant.

The food was much better than last year, when we had our dinner at Ming Court @ M Suite; at least the portion was sooooooo much bigger!! Hahaahah....

The place wasn't as crowded as I expected. Tried to book the place since 2 years ago, but it was always fully booked. So for this year, I booked more than a month ago! Kiasu horr... bo pian larrr... Otherwise people will complain that I always book the same places year in, year out! HAAHAAHAHA!!!

After dinner, we went over to Arica's place...

As usual lar... free-flow wines all night long!!!

Drink too much larr... Muka pun jadi maciam hantu.. HAHAHAAH

By the time I reached home, 2am liao! Damn tired...

I'm aching from neck to toes!!

Left the house around 9.30am.. jam at checkpoint, then CTE, then Queen's St (for those wondering why I took the CTE instead of PIE, the reason is simple. I only know how to get to Bugis from CTE.. hehhehehe..)

Reached Queen's St only around 11.15am, and I can't find a parking space!! KKNBCCB!!! So I drove around, I parked at the only carpark that was not full, which is in The Bencoolen.

Took the MRT to Orchard, and only managed to reach there 11.45am! Sien arrr...whole morning gone liao!!

Anyway...... met YW and we went on a bargain hunting trip!! HAahahaha!!!..

We went around Orchard area first; Wisma, Lucky Plaza and dunno where else.. hehehe.. I've bought few stuff from Zara, Mondo, Pepper Plus and a roadside stall...

My SGD$9.90 shoes!!!

Then, went over to Bugis, where YW bought her CNY essentials. We put all our stuff into my car, and continued shopping!!

Bought more stuff from Esprit and BYSI..

Xmas Eve 08 BBQ

The sky was overcast when I woke up in the morning, and the first thought that came into my mind was, "Xi liao.. how to bbq tonite??"

Anyway... was a bit blur blur that day, went around to collect stuff and preparing the food. Luckily, Irene Y, RK and my dad came to to help out in the afternoon, otherwise, I lagi jialat lorrr.. heheeheh...

I was still outside when Angela called me to say she's at my house liao... paiseh, paiseh... AND IT WAS STILL RAINING LORRRRR!!

Angela helped to set out the tables and chilled the drinks. BJ came next, and helped out with Angela in preparing the cocktail, which I nearly forgotten... heheeh.. see rain whole day, panic liao marrrr..

Roel was next to arrive, with his two princes in tow.. See his pattern-more-than-badminton pose..

The rain finally stopped aound 9pm and strangely, the house was VERY QUIET... you know why?

EVERYONE was surrounding the TV, watching Little Nyonya.. Buey Tahan!!!!

BBQ otak-otak all the way from Muar... but everyone complained too salty lehh...

New CIQ - FAIL!!

I think we're being trained to become the next F1 drivers..

1st day the CIQ officially opened (16/12/08) - Vince smsed me to tell me massive jam.. he was stuck at JB for 30 mins. YW also called me, to tell me she had to walk 1km and countless escalator to reach the checkpoint. I told her to count her lucky stars that the escalators are working. Given the 'Malaysia Boleh' reputation, the escalators will be out of service VERY soon! hahaha..

And so. I left house earlier as usual..

I took the Stulang way... NO CARS! Thank God!

Few things that I think the designer of the new CIQ should have thought of:

Wider roads - the roads were soooo narrow and winding.. like a F1 circuit lor..

More lanes - only 2 lanes for buses, cars and bikes. I think the least they could do is have a separate lane for bikes all the way.

Placement of direction signboard - When exiting the CIQ after the security check, the left lane is supposed to lead to the link to the North-South Highway (to KL), whereas the right lane is leading to various locations in JB. However, the signboard was placed directly above the divider of the two lanes. Cars coming out from the CIQ will not know this until they reach the divider. Imagine the cars trying to swerve in and out.

And the pedestrian.. it's so dangerous for them to walk and sooooo far lorr... so kesian!!!

I also can't figure out why they need 2 separate counters to check the passport and to pay the toll. Since they are now cashless, can't they just put the scanners outside the officers' windows? Why the need for 2 separate windows? As far as I know, only the furthest counters (one each on the extreme left lane, and another on the extreme right lane) allow the purchase and reload of the Touch N' Go cards. Makes no sense to me lorr..

AND the bottleneck is still there :S All vehicles still need to go pass the old checkpoint when leaving JB. And you know, after the old JB checkpoint, all vehicles had to squeeze into 1 lane? Ya, it caused a jam there today!! SUPER DUPER STUPID!!!!!

Haiii.. spend so much on the building for what? Make wider roads larr!!

Anyway, will give them the benefit of doubt. See how it goes a month later...

Visit from Miew Yeen + Family

Been busy for the past few weeks... AND LAZY.. that's why no updates.. hehehehe...

A-N-Y-W-A-Y....

Miew Yeen came to JB last Thursday and went back to KL on Saturday night. Chin Beng was here on business and she tagged along (so free horr) with her 2 babies, mum & maid.

This is Pei Yuan.. the last time I saw her, she was just learning to walk.. Now already can run! Hahaahah...

and this is Pei Yi.. looks exactly like the father lorr! SOOOO CUTTTEEEEE!!!!

I booked them at Austin Hills, convenient marr... near my house, and Chin Beng's client's office is in Pasir Gudang..

First night they were here, I brought them to makan Bak Kut Teh and Fishhead Curry at Taman Daya. For the second night, I tapau-ed Kuey Teow Kia and brought them to my house. After that, we went to Danga Bay. It was quite late when we reached there, so there weren't many cars.

On Saturday, Pei Yuan went swimming in the morning.. I love this set of photos I took.. nice hor..

After swimming, we went for seafood at TKK @ Megah Ria.

Chin Beng went back to work after lunch. I took Miew Yeen, mum and Pei Yuan to S'Mart for some dessert.

We went back to my house after that and after resting for a while, we went to dinner at Weng Hua @ Taman Daya. They've renovated the restaurant, and I nearly couldn't recognise the place; tot I went to the wrong place!! Hahahah...

Had high-tea with Irene Y at Mutiara Hotel.... LAST SATURDAY!!..

Heheeheh.. din had time to blog about it.. So here it is now!!

The food's quite good.. RM33+ for adult, and RM20+ for children.

We went over to Holiday Plaza after that... realised that I've not been there for quite a while liao.. Bought myself a nice clock :)

We all bo liao again!! Hahaah.. JH also very 'on' us lorr... we ask him to pose, he also pose.. HAHAAHAHHAHAHAAH....

22/11/03, Saturday

Had made arrangement to go to Moni's house for a quick tutorial on Picasa & Pixart...

I realized that Picasa 3 has so much new features.. more user friendly features..

Anyway, since YW also wanted to make a book, I IMed her to tell her about it, and she said she'll drop by at Moni's house too.

And then arr.. I tot, might as well ask Arica to go too, and the idea of the impromptu birthday gathering came up!

And so... When I reached Moni's place, we looked for Domino's pizza number, and ordered delivery. I brought some candles with me.

So, when everyone arrived, we placed the candles on the pizza, and we call that, the PIZZA CAKE!! HAHAHAAHAHA... supposed to have 32 candles, but I used 1 of them to light up the rest of the candles, so it sort of burned out.. hehehe..

We made YW to pose as a convict with the gift we got for her.. (actually arr.. she got the present herself.. we bayar saje.. hehehheheh)

Went for Paul & Jennie's wedding after the gathering at Moni's house

Moni said she will pick me up around 6.30pm, and will sms me before she leaves the house.

And then arr... around 6.45pm, I saw a MyVi in front of my house.. I din take notice of it, until I heard Moni screaming out my name.. Walau lorr.. the whole street can hear liao!! HAhahaahah..

Anyway, reached there also quite early... 80 tables lehhh.. so naturally, dinner start late lor... So hungry lorrr...

Met Ian, Moni's videographer for her wedding.. Jennie also hired him...

As usual lorr.. suan me like nobody's business. HAHAHHAHHA... Anyway, I also suan him back larr...

The food this time was quite bad... Compared to all the dinner at Peking restaurants I went to, this was the worst... Maybe because there were 80 tables?? I don't know.. But luckily, there's Sea Cucumber.. I don't know why, but most people don't like it.. So I eat all of it lorr!! HAHAHA...

I ordered a book for my Melbourne trip last week, and I got it yesterday!!!!

The book was couriered to Irene Y's house on Friday, but she wasn't around when the postman came. So, I picked her up yesterday, and we went to Ulu Tiram's Pos Laju to pick up the book..

VERY THE NICE LORRRR!!!!

After we took the book, we opened it and was looking at the book in front of the pickup counter!! And you know lar.. your friend (me) talk damn loud one right..

So you imagine larr.. 2 suaku women standing in front of the Pos Laju office, going thru the book with all the comments.. WAHH.. Shi mei de lorr... WAHHH.. hen mei horrr... WAHHH... wo li hai mar...

A postman was driving pass and he looked at us, " Wah Ah-moy.. cantik horr.. cepatnya buka parcel lu.." =_= a bit paiseh larr.. HAAHAHHAA... but can't help it lor.. it was REALLY pretty lor.. see who make one lar.. hahahaha..

Eureka Tower & SHOPPING!!!

- Day 5 @ Final Day -

Ses Lee & gang decided to do more shopping at Victoria's Market in the morning. I, on the other hand, just wanted to stay in. Damn tired lorr.. didn't sleep much for the past few days..

They came back around 10am, and we checked-out both rooms. They have lockers which we can rent (AUD4.00 per locker / 12 hours) and we left all our luggages there.

Next, we went to Eureka Towers / Eureka Skydeck. We've got complimentary entry tickets for the tower + the Edge when we booked the tours earlier.

Very nice view horr...

We aren't allowed to take pix while in the Edge.. haiii... nevermind lorr..

Anyway, if it's wasn't free, I don't think I'll go lorrr.. I mean, maybe out of curiosity, I would go, but I certainly don't think it's worth the money I'll be paying for it. For both the tower + Edge, I think it'll cost about AUD30.

Ses Lee & I went shopping at Myers after that, cause I still have not bought anything for anyone lorr.. not even myself!! Mana boleh...

So, within 1 1/2 hours that we have left, I managed to blow AUD400.00 on anything that I can grab hold off. They were having sales; 1st item at normal price, 2nd item at 50% off..

Damn lot of people lorr...

Nice ourse horr.. Moni was asking if it can be opened.. never thought of that, cause we were in a hurry to SHOP!! Hahaahh..

Managed to get back to the hotel by 1.30pm and waited for the maxi cab that was supposed to send us to the airport.

Managed to grab more stuff at the airport.. hehehe.. will blog more about that later...

What I missed most about the trip?? Walking in the streets at night, with a warm drink in your hands.. heheeh.. Damn shiok... and not perspiring at all!! HAhaahahahah..

Puffing Billy, Yarra Valley & Healsville

- Day 4 -

After the hooha with the driver-guide on the 3rd day, I was not looking forward to the tour on the 4th day. But then, I realised that this tour was booked with another tour operator, APT. The last time I went to Perth, all our tours were booked with them too.

The tour operator we went with for the past 2 days specialised in small group tours, meaning, their vans accommodate to about 20 pax each. Whereas with APT, they use buses. Overall, although I prefer smaller group, I find that APT buses are more comfortable compared to the smaller vans. Also, the tour we went with today, only have about 20 pax on board! Hehehe.. so the trick is: travel off-peak!! Hahaahhah...

ANYWAY...

The guide was quite funny.. joked a lot about his personal life. There's this part that I find it so funny. He was telling some facts of the places that we're going and also about Melbourne. Then he remarked, "My ex-wife often says that I'm a walking encyclopedia for useless information". HAHAHAAHAH!!

1st stop - Puffing Billy

It was a great day, bright and sunny.. It wasn't as cold as the few days when we were here, but I still took an extra sweater out with me, cause the weather here suka suka change one lorr..

We had our morning tea at this place called Sherbrooke Forest? Think so larr..

The driver-guide was telling us that they will be serving this sponge cake with strawberry jam, which is very taste. I was a bit skeptical at first and I don't really take breakfast lorrr..

But when Ses Lee took her first bite and said, " Ei, Irene, this is really good lehh".. I took 1 piece and it was YUMMY!!!

After the morning tea, it was time to feed the birds again!!

This one's really cute.. but it didn't want to eat the seeds on my hand no matter how I tried to entice it.. kns!!

Cause these big birds are coming after me.. AND THEY'LL BITE THE HANDS LORR...

Victoria Market & Phillip Island Tour

- DAY 3-

The Phillip Island tour pickup was at 11.10am, so, we decided to take a walk to the 'famous' Queen Victoria Market in the morning.

I was expecting more, but it felt like a covered Petaling Street cum wet market.. hahahaha..

Bought nuts and honey for SOME PEOPLE...hehehe..

We went back to the hotel shortly after, to put our things, and walked to the pickup point.

- Phillip Island Tour -

The view was magnificent, but the tour was a disappointment.. tell you why in a while...

We had lunch at a wildlife reserve and we had so much fun there!!

We can only touch the wombat, unlike the last time when I was in Perth, I can actually carry it.. dunno why over here cannot carry it.. and the ranger you see in the pix, dunno why she so kan cheong, and looked so bu kan yan... we were taking turns to take pictures, and it felt like she can't wait to get it over and done with. There were like over 20 of us in the tour, of course it'll take time some, right? Be a bit patient larr.. haii..

Anyway.. At least we got to fed the kangaroos!!!

Those kangaroos were really hungry lorr.. some even bit and scratched my hands!! ARGH!!!

They even had an albino kangaroo there... but it looked sickly lorr.. didn't even move an inch.. just lying down there, waiting to be fed.. hahaah

We reach this island with the most breathtaking scenery and it was coldddddddd lorrr...

We had dinner later at a town nearby and proceed to the Penguin Parade, which happens around 8pm. We aren't allow to take pictures of the penguins, so no photos here.. SOB!!!!

BUT IT WAS FREEZING lorr.. Imagine sitting on the beach (1st row!!) with the wind blowing at you.. we had to use the scarfs to cover our faces lorrr.. My hands were numb by the time I left the beach...

It was a great tour.. the disappointment was with the driver-guide.

At some points during the tour, he sounded quite sarcastic and rude to my group. And at the end of the day, other tourists asked him if he can let them off at other drop off points, which he gladly agreed. But when we asked him if he can drop us at our desired place, his tone completely changed. He said something like, "Geez, I wished you guys had told me earlier!!" KNS lorr.. how the hell do we know we can request for that, and why didn't he asked earlier??

For a while, he agreed, then changed his mind. He said he can drop us off at some streets. All of us kept quiet and looked at each other, as we don't know where is that place.. I was like helloo.. we're tourists, not locals, how do we know the streets name if you don't show us??

I think he was pissed off, and started to raise his voice, and said he will drop us where he picked us up in the morning. Then when he let a Spanish couple off at the Flinder's Station, we realised that we can actually get down from there too. And you know what he said?? "That's what I've been trying to tell you!!" SUPER WALAU LORRR..

I was so angry, I wrote to the agent who book us on the tour when I reached the hotel. But after I return to Malaysia, still no reply from her.. So I lagi pissed off, I searched the net for the tour operator's email, wrote an email to them, and cc to Tourism Australia. I got my reply the very next day..

The owner of the operator also called me on the same day. He asked me why I didn't try to contact them first, instead of cc the email to Tourism Australia. I told him I was upset. Maybe I was a little bit rash when I wrote the email, but hey, I WAS DAMN PISSED AT HIS ATTITUDE LORR... I'm very the mean horr...

The last I heard, the driver-guide insisted that he wasn't rude and he has tendered his resignation letter. I think the owner also thought that I over-reacted. Whatever...

Anyway, gotta say that I was impressed by their damage control reaction. Fast lorr..

Great Ocean Road Tour

- Day 2 -

The first day-tour of the trip was the Great Ocean Road tour. It seems that this is a 'must-do' trip for anyone visiting Melbourne.

We made a few stops along the way, namely Shipwreck coast, Surf Coast - Bells Beach, 12 Apostles and London Bridge. But frankly speaking, they all looked the same to me.... I can't differentiate them in my photos !! HAHAAHAHAH.. I'll try, ok

It cost me an additional AUD70.. a little bit expensive, considering that it's only a 10 mins ride.. but the scenery seen from up there was priceless!!

Surprisingly, it taste real good, and the portion was really big.. I couldn't even finished it off!!

Met up Ses Lee & gang at Changi Airport, T3 on Tuesday night (14/10/08). We booked the SQ filght @ 11.30pm. It cost us bout S$1,100 each, which I considered cheap, as I asked around during the travel fair in JB, a Qantas flight would have cost us RM2,600 - RM2,800 each! Special promo on SQ website.. hehehe..

Also, we can pre-book our seats and meals preference when making the online booking.. so good horr...

Supper - The chicken was nice, but the bread was as hard as a rock!!!

Breakfast - Nice muffin

We reached Melbourne Airport around 9.30am local time, but had some problems clearing customs - One of Ses Lee's cousin kena questioned and the aunt luggage kena 100% checked...

Anyway, we enquired about the Skybus thing at the airport, and the lady serving us was so helpful.. She actually told us to take a maxi cab, which will cost us about AUD70 compared to each of us paying AUD16 (there's 6 of us). Also, we need to change bus once we reach the city, as the bus will only stop at the Southern Cross Station Bus Interchange. So it makes more sense for us to take the maxi cab.

We reached the hotel, Formule 1, which is located right smack in the middle of the CBD, around 12pm . Very, very convenient. And cheap too!! hahaah.. The weather was very, very cool too! Loved it!!!

We wasted no time, and started to explore the city.. not to mention, take pix!! Lots and lots of it!! I can't post all of it here, so will randomly select a few, ok..

We even visited the museum.. wah... maciam we understand the stuff like that.. hahaah

We were so tired on that day, since we didn't really sleep on the plane.. but anyway, need to gear up for the next day's tour :)

Fish Spa..

Was lunching at Tesco yesterday and came across a 'fish spa' outlet.

After going thru their rates (20 mins @ RM13 / 30 mins @ RM18), we've decided to take the 30 mins session.

There were 4 of us, and the ladies manning the counter charged us RM54. I thought nothing about it, until the guys paid me and I was returning the change to them. Those ladies actually charged us RM18 for 3 pax only.. Walau lorr...

Hiking Trip to Gunung Lambak, Kluang

First day of Raya - Went hiking!!!!

It all started when I saw Irene Y's IM message that she 's going hiking at Gunung Lambak, and asked who she's going with and the itinerary. She emailed the details to me shortly after, I found it interesting and called her the next morning to confirm!!

Walau lorr.. never exercise for so long liao still dare to go hiking... Moni wished me all the best, cause the last time I went hiking to a waterfall in Segamat, I nearly passed out!! HAHAHAAHAH..

Woke up at 5am today and managed to reach Irene Y's house at 6am.

We met her colleagues at the Skudai toll plaza, and we proceed to Kluang for breakfast. We reached the foot of the mountain at around 9 plus.

At the foot of the mountain.. when we just begin our 'walk'..

Very energetic horrr... can take pictures.. so happy somemore..

'Half-hill' liao... still can smile...

After that, the hard work began.. no more walking, more like climbing lorr!!!

Very, very the steep... had to stop and rest once a while, to catch my breath.. but boy, it was hard work lorr.. Lucily, on some parts of the mountain, they had ropes for us to hold on too.. makes it easier for us, novice climbers..

The last time I did this, was like more than 10 years ago, for my tourism project in Lake Kenyir, Terengganu. I actually ROLL down the hill, cause I was walking too fast, and stepped on some mud, which caused me to slip and fall..

I learned my lesson there, I didn't dare to walk too fast, especially when descending the hill.

For this climb, I don't think it's suitable for kids, casue the parents will have to carry them in some point, which I think is very dangerous for both the parent and the kid.. If only till the 'half-hill', then it's still ok..

That's the birthday cake we bought for Arica.

The bbq was held on 20/9/08, a few days after the Bday girl's actual bday.

Lots of food, and the main chef was our Roel. Also, lots of wines too!!

Someone got drunk lorr; actually arr.. lots of people got drunk, but one of them got REALLY DRUNK... maybe will feature him more here, hopefully.. our 'akan-datang guy' Hahahaahah!!!

I Ban Golden Key @ Jusco Tebrau City

Super super KNS...

On Sat, I went to Jusco Tebrau City to search for a combination padlock.

I bought 2 at the Golden Key outlet; one for myself, and another for Ses Lee. I noticed one of them had cellotape over the wrapping, but I didn't mind, and took it anyway..

When I got home, I realised there was a long cut on the wrapping (long enough to take out the lock) and the instruction manual was nowhere to be seen. And since the 2nd lock is for Ses Lee, I can't possibly 'share' the instruction manual with her isn't it?? I decided to take it back to replace it the next day, since I'm meeting YC for lunch at Jusco.

I went over on Sunday, and explained the situation to one of the sales staff there. He took out the lock and tried to explain to me the stuff.. I told him I want the manual. He went over to a guy, who either is the manager, supervisor or the boss himself, and that idiot dare to say the instructions is on the back of the packaging. I was like WTF!! U think I'm illiterate or what?? The back only explains the features of the lock lorr... I told him that the back does not show me how to use the lock. He said he can teach me.. very easy one..

My blood was about to boil that time, and I told him that the lock was not for myself and I was just buying for a friend. That idiotic man can say (with an irritated tone somemore)," I will teach you, and then you can teach your friend what" SUPER KNS, right??!!

I told him that I want a new one, and I did not cut the thing, and told him to check with the staff who sold me that. I think that staff also a bit scared liao and said yalor, the thing was already opened when I bought it.

That idiotic may sounded VERY irritated and told him to change a new one for me.

KNS lorr.. dun make me shout at you lorr... I tak salah lorr.. If I salah, I think I salah cause I didn't insist on a new one when I bought it. That lock looks like it had already been used, and they just pack it back. If people just wanna test it, then where the hell is the instruction manual that comes with it??

I was like OMG - I think I was talking in my sleep!!!

You know sometimes when you're drifting in and out of sleep, and there are people walking around you, and you're not really sure if it's for real or you're just dreaming, and you're kinda like responding to them when they talk to you?

Went over to YW's future MIL's house to buka puasa with them after my facial. Only saw Lan and YW there, and apparently, the whole family is at one of the sisters' house. They were telling YW not to invite me to their house, as they have just moved in, and lots of stuff were not arranged yet.

I told YW, "You never tell them I like to self-invite one mehhhh??". YW, " Yeah.. I told them it's the madwoman that's coming over" =_=

On my way back today, I went to fill up my tank and saw one very idiotic man...

After he was done filling up his car, he walked into the kiosk and started buying stuff.. and when he came out, he put his purchases into his car, and went to the washroom... and all the while he was doing all those stuff, HIS BLOODY CAR WAS PARKED AT THE PUMP STATION!!!!!!!

How inconsiderate is that??!!!

Visited my grandma over the weekend, she had a fall bout a month ago, and was hospitalised until now.. boy.. I was super, super tired...

Picked up my bro, his wife and baby around 9.00am on Saturday and then it started to drizzle.. damn sien..

Drizzle became rain, and along some stretches, it was so heavy until I can't even see the car in front of me. Needles to say, by the time I reach Melaka around 11am, I knew I can't make it to KL by 12pm. So, we decided to make a stop at Ayer Keroh and have an early lunch instead.

When we nearly reach the Sg Besi toll plaza, there was a MASSIVE JAM lorrr!! SUPER KNS!!!! I can't even see the toll plaza from where I was. The jam was wayyyyyyy after the toll plaza, at the Petronas station.. Walau lorr.. I was stuck there for 2 hours, and with my petrol running out!! =_=

Damn irritating....

Luckily, we did not really lost our way, and managed to find the hospital quite easily. Thanks to Yu, whom I had called on Friday, and he gave me very detailed directions to the hospital. Otherwise, I am very, very sure I'll lose my way, cause there were soooooo many freaking flyovers lorr.. I don't even know which is which lorr!!

Anyway, reached the hospital at around 3pm (6 FREAKING HOURS LORRR!!!). My grandma looked frail, and also a bit deaf (according to her larr). My bro pulak kena marah by her for bringing the baby to the hospital.. see lar.. told him liao tak mau dengar... hahhahah...

In my grandma's own words, "Life is horrible".. heheh... she can still joke about it lorr.. being bedridden for about a month, and she said it was very depressing when she went down to the therapy centre; you'll see all sorts of people.. haiii.. but at least she can still laugh about it, so I guess she's not that depressed lorr... For an independent person, who prefers to stay alone, I guess it's very frustrating when you need someone assistance for every single thing..

Made me thought about this : Do you want to die young and healthy, or live to a ripe old age, but bedridden most of the time?? Hmmmm.... Tough choice horrr...

After visiting my grandma, we drove to the hotel... and it was raining cats and dogs! DAMN!!!!

I think I was driving in circles, cause I just can't seem to find the signboard to KL Tower (the hotel is directly opposite of KL Tower..) And so, back to my trusty Yu, who guided me over the phone. It was super complicated lorr... I told him I'll call him again, as his instructions were getting longer, and I can't remember it! Hahaahah.. Luckily, I managed to find the signboard after a turn, and followed it all the way... It's actually very near to the Beach Club stretch lorrr...

CLS managed to get me a very good rate for the room.. THANK YOU HORRR!! She got us the 1 bedroom suite at Pacific Regency.. The room was beautiful!!

Anyway, met CLS around 9pm.. she told me the hotel's Luna bar is quite happening.. I understand from her that the cover charge is RM50 per pax, but she got us in wtihout having paying for it.. hehehe.. it's soooooo good to know 'people'.. hehehe.. We were given a seat for 2 pax right next to the pool initially.. after a while, the manager walked over to us and started chatting to CLS, as they know each other.. CLS was telling her that we wanted the city view's seat, but apparently, it was all reserved. But the lady so kindly got us 1 table and we had a manifiction view of the KL's skyline!!!

After 2 rounds of drinks and LOTS of chatting, we decided to walk around...

They have a non-smoking area (indoor), which I think is quite cool.. For those who likes to 'ni nong wo nong', they have a few seats at the corner which nobody will bother you.. hahahahaah..

We went upstairs and the view was even better! CLS was asking me if she's seeing things, cause right above the KL's skyline, there was this white foggy line, and on top of it, was a clutter of lights.. At first I also thought I was seeing things (Chinese 7th month lehhh) and it kinda looked like a mirage... And then I thought maybe it's Genting??

This bar is quite cool, if you guys want a place to chill out and chat, but for letting your hair down and dance like crazy, I don't think so...

But overall, I like the place, nice and cozy, music also quite loud, but since it's open air, it's still bearable..

New hangout for 'us', perhaps? :)

Lunch at Minori

I was kind of disappointed with the lunch at Minori, on Saturday.

The service was lousy... one of the service staff looked as if we owe him money.. his face was sooooo black, I was almost afraid that he'll grab a knife and kill us all...

And the worst part? All of us were saying 'thank you' when he was serving us the food and clearing our table, and he just ignore us!! Super walau lorr... after a while, I told everyone maybe we should just stop saying 'thank you' to him, since he don't appreciate it..

Compare to Ikoi @ Miramar Hotel, Minori's service staff sucks BIG TIME!!! Ikoi's staff were wayyyyyyyyyy friendlier and they were all smiles from the moment we stepped into the restaurant, until we leave, even though we stayed after the closing time.

Food wise, Minori might have a larger range menu, but I still prefer Ikoi's. I guess it's not the quantity of items that you have, but the quality.. or maybe it's because I enjoyed myself better at Ikoi, that I feel their food was better? Dunno...

Anyway, made our way to Ikea Tampines to look see look see, and on our way home, there was a massive jam at the causeway. And guess what? We heard a loud bang, and we saw a motorbike and an uncle lying on the road!! Damn jialat lorr... I think a car was trying to cut out of his lane, and the bike was trying to avoid him. Super KNS driver lorr... die die must cut queue.. these stupid people just cannot stay in their lane one worr.. must cut in and out baru 'song'..

Arica made a call to the police, and within minutes, we saw one officer running from the checkpoint towards the accident victim, and the ambulance was there too.. Super fast lorrrrr...

Very kesian the motorbike riders... very, very dangerous...

Course Finish Liao

Finally... my course end liao... the total damage : almost S$50 lost in my 'investment'.. hahahahaha..

But it was fun.. nearly died of heart attack on the last day.. We had a 'joint venture' and were bidding for projects at an auction and with all the actions going around, I was breaking out in cold sweat lorr.. HAHAAHHA... guess I'm not made out to do big business lorr...

I don't eat during the tea-breaks, cause I'll get sleepy after eating. But on the 3rd day, I was eating and drinking like mad.. one of the participants noticed that, and asked why I was eating. I told him I'm stressed, that's why need to eat to de-stress!! HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!! Told them to get an ambulance on standby!!

The lunch was great, they were serving sashimi (too bad I don't like raw food) and a wide range of desserts. Only complaint is that they don't have much vegetable dishes.. most of them were meat items.

Oh well.... hopefully I am able to apply what was taught in that 3 days to my work, given that I'm a total blur case! hehehe... But personally, I've made some new friends.. not too bad lar horr...

And then, at the end of the 3rd day, some of us had a drink at the lounge.. They were having a 1+1 promo for their Happy Hour, meaning, every drink we order, we'll get another, free. One of them ordered a Martini, and I thought, "Oh good, I want that too", and we shared the 1+1 drink. Then when the drink came, I thought it tastes weird and very 'kau'. That was around 5.30pm. After my dinner, around 9.00 plus, I realised what I wanted was Margarita, not Martini!! HAHAAHAH.. No wonder it taste weird!!

Anyway, had dinner with YW for that 3 days, since we go back together..

Back to School...

..well, sort of....

Am away from work for 3 days; attending a Financial Management course (for non-financial managers). Quite interesting actually.. at least I did not fell asleep!! HAHAHAAHAHA!!! The speaker made it lively and not as dry as it sounds...

But me, being totally paranoid at public speaking, hates it when he goes around the tables, asking each of us to briefly introduce ourselves... and at the end of day, had to tell the whole class what we had learned for the day.

Walau lorrr... if this goes on for the next 2 days, I think I will die of heart attack.. I absolutely hate it when all eyes are on me... am not an attention seeker lehh!! hahaahahah... Anyway, I 'invested' S$19 in my 'ventures' today, let's see if I will make a profit or loss this Friday.. hehehehe....

Another 'downside' of attending this course is, I NEED TO WAKE UP AT 5.45AM LORRRRR.. on normal working days, I only get up at 7.30am.. but because the course is held in a hotel in the CBD area and registration starts at 8.30am, I need to get out of the house so much earlier, just in case the traffic at customs or the roads leading to the hotel is heavy.. haiii... damn sien lorr.. that's why I was surprised I did not fall asleep.. hahahaha...

I picked up YW and a friend of hers at the JB customs at 6.30am, I managed to clear customs by 7.30am. Had breakfast with them, and dropped YW off at Bugis MRT. I drove past the entrance to the carpark, and made a few turns before I reached the hotel.. Biasa lar me... considered very good liao, that I was not late.. hahaha....

Also managed to find my way back to the JB-SG bus station to pick up YW and her friend and drove back to JB. Had dinner with YW at Anjung Warisan.. wanted to have ais kacang from the stall previously operating at Lido beach, but could not find it. Anyone has any idea where it moved to?

Finally, we managed to get a table 'upstairs'... everytime we go there, the upstairs are reserved, damn sien...

But the food there, so-so compared to last time. YW's rice was tastless and my Nasi Briyani was soggy.. They called my dish Nasi Briyani Istimewa.. I dunno what's so istimewa about it lorr.. heehehe..

Ses Lee's Baby Girl

Ses Lee was in town this weekend... She brought her baby girl with her...

I went over to her bro's house to see her on Friday night, partly to catch up with her, and also to discuss the details for our Melbourne trip..

Yeah.. Me going to Melbourne in mid-Oct!!!!!!! I see my pocket getting burned again!!!!! Heheheh.....

Air-ticket booked, visa approved... now left the rooms only...

Mek's Wedding

Mek held her customary wedding dinner last Sat at Daiman 18.

Personally, I felt that they failed to upkeep the place.. what a waste... The wall-paper are coming off, and the fittings desperately need an upgrade. And the washroom.. URGHHHH!!!! CANNOT FLUSH ONE LORRR!! Luckily the washroom downstairs are in better working condition..

Moni and Vince picked me up around 7.00pm.. We had a long day actually... I was out of the house by 10am, went to GE office to settle some stuff... then Moni & Vince picked me up from PP and we went for lunch - beef noodles near the previous Cathay cinema. I saw Laksa, Kuey Teow Kia and Beef Noodles, and wanted to eat ALL of them!! HAHAAH...

Anyway, after much discussion, each of us ordered a bowl of dry beef noodles, then we ordered a big bowl of laksa (no noodles - ingredients only) and Vince ordered duck meat from the kuey teow kia's stall... Only the beef noodles were as good as last time. The Cathay Laksa sucks!! So watery, and practically tasteless.. the chilly they served also no good.. as for the duck meat.. I felt it taste rather bland too.. so disappointed.. haii...

After lunch, we went to a travel fair in Persada.. Also quite disappointed.. not much good deals over there.... After that, I went back to PP to meet with Val's pastor, to get my policy from him.. By the time I reached home, already around 6pm.. DAMN TIRED LORRRR!!!

ANYWAY - back to Mek's wedding...

Food-wise, can't complain much.. the Peking's standard is still there... They served us mooncake before the start of the dinner.. I think it was Yam mooncake, Teochew style... Very good, or was it because I was SUPER hungry!! HAHAHAHA... by the way, it's halal...

Other dishes was good too.. and you know what, the table sitting next to us didn't really touch their food lorr.. WHAT A WASTE!! We finished ALL the food on the plate.. like the fish.. it was left with bones only.. Moni and I even 'attacked' the head!! HAHAHAAH...

Luckily we were sitting with everyone we know (well, almost everyone larr).. otherwise, we'll be too paiseh to eat liao!! HAHHAAH..

We even finished 1/2 plate of the Lotus Leaf Rice, that the next table DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH LORRR!!! HAHAAHAHAHAH... (Lai Meng, Jee Ching and Ai Lee was sitting at the next table larr.. otherwise you think they will pass the plate to us mehh.. hahaha). Moni and I were saying, that they should pass us the food long ago lorr.. like the prawns and SEA CUCUMBER!! HAHAH.. Oh, by the way, Vince was saying that was the first time his table finished the sea cucumber.. Moni told him, "Cause Irene around marr.." =_=

I think Mek's friend, who was sitting with us, must be thinking we never eat for ages... I think the people who ate the most we Vince, Moni, Li Peng (Cousin's hubby) and myslef!! HAAHAH... Ahh... and also Jun Hao.. Cousin's son.. can eat and drink lorr... DUN PLAY PLAY WORRR!!!

RK's Birthday

RK celebrated his birthday last Thursday, and so nice of him, bought dinner on Friday night, which include me.. We had Korean food, opposite Plaza Pelangi.. Compared to the one we had in Stulang Laut, I would call this 'hawker fare'. Price are of course lower than that of Stulang's, but definitely not 'hawker' price... HAHAHA.... Overall, I still prefer the restaurant in Stulang. Although slightly more expensive, but I feel that it's more worthwhile...

A brief comparison :

Korean @ Stulang Laut

Re-fillable FOC side dishes (which taste great too)
BBQ meat @ thinly cut slices of beef and pork - my mouth waters at the mere mention of the pork belly slices.. SUPERB!!
Great condiments served with the mouth-watering meat!!

BBQ meat @ Big and chunky - tasteless.. dun quite like it
No condiments at all - Either that or they didn't serve us

However, the service at Stulang sucks, whereas the one opposite Plaza Pelangi was very good. They kept refilling our drinks and the service staff are way more friendly than Stulang's. Both restaurants are operated by Koreans.

restaurant, next to The Store, pandan. DAMN SUCKS! Food not fresh, and quality not as good as before.. well, can't expect much from all the rising food cost, and their price still remain at RM16 plus or something..

Also, thanks for the gifts! It was everything I wanted!!! (Is it becoz I hinted too much liao, until it's so hard for you all to NOT notice??!! HAHAAHAHA..)

Anyway, I always say that I'm fortunate, being constantly surrounded by good friends (siao, but still good friends!! hahaah) and they are always there for me.. Every year, there are a whole bunch of people celebrating my birthday with me.. and there will be endless 'cake-blowing'.. hehehe...

Thanks Ms Chong, for your dinner on Friday... she made her way to AMK hub just to have dinner with me.. so sweet of her lorrr.... hehehe...

Then, sms starts to stream in after mid-night and also more calls and sms on Saturday itself. And the funny thing? I don't recognize some of the numbers!! HAHAAHH.. but I paiseh to ask larr.. anyway, managed to find out who they are...

The day (or should I say the night) start from dinner at TKK - Megah Ria. We didn't opt for Todak this time, cause we are a bit sien with their food liao. Felt that the portion is really small, and it's not as good as before. TKK has less crowd, and we don't feel 'pressured' to finish our food fast.. hahaha...

Overall, we felt the food was good, except for the Indonesian Curry Prawn.. The Salted Egg Crab was the best amongst the dishes we ordered. The bill came up to RM499.80, which I don't feel it's cheap, but I would say it's worth it, cause the quality of the food is really good. Fresh seafood and generous servings. The crab and fish were super large lor!!! And for 12 adults and 2 growing children, it's definitely worth every penny of it...

As usual, Irene Y + family are the earliest to arrive. Don't scold me hor cousin, Jaya was late lorrr... Even Moni, who was supposed to attend a housewarming with Vince, arrived earlier than me lorr... =_=

And Jaya, tried to sabo me lorr.. the waitress asked if we want them to play the birthday song, and he actually said YES!!! SUPER KNS!!!!

Anyway, Seah, Moni, Vince, Sharon, Jaya, Arica and me proceed to Cabana after dinner. Actually, I called earlier to make a reservation. The person who answered the call a bit lan xi lorr... When I told him I need a table for 8 persons, he actually asked me what drinks I want to order. He said I need to pre-order at least 2 bottles of whisky before he can confirm the reservation. SUPER KNS!

When I arrive there, I just told the bouncer I want to order a bottle of JD, and he said he can allow 6 or 7 persons to go in. See??!! Please lorr.. most of us are girls marr.. there's only 2 guys with us.. the normal practice in JB is girls no need to pay cover charge one what..

Anyway, we also ended up opening 2 bottles of JD!! hahahaah.. Thanks to Vince and Arica for sponsoring the drinks.. Supposed to be my treat lehh.. paiseh, paiseh...

Needless to say, most of us drink until 'peng'. Vomited when I reached home.. long time never drink until vomit liao.. HAHAAHHAHAH!!!

And that's how I spent my 32nd birthday!!!

Dinner from Boss

Had dinner at one15°marina last Thursday... a treat from Boss for the team..

We had the steamboat buffet... quite nice actually, but a bit too 'healthy' for me lorr.. hahaah.. the soup base was cooked using fish stock, and you can see some of herbs they used in there.. and taste rather bland.. super healthy lorr!! Me and another colleague were pouring soy sauce into our soup!!HAHAHAHHAH..

But I liked their seafood selection.. big chunky sea cucumber and fish maw.. and fresh scallop too! Other places I went to, serves thinly sliced sea cucumber, if they have it at all! And if you leave them in the soup long enough, you can't even find it!! HAHAAHAHAH.. I think it melts if you cook them long enough... hehehe..

And they place the food so nicely on the buffet line.. like the prawns, it was so nicely lined up, that I feel paiseh to pile them on my plate.. You know how we eat at some of the steamboat/bbq place in JB.. pile the prawns on the plate and eat to our heart's content? Over here, I just took a few pieces.. Me is so fake lorr!! HAHAHAAHAHAH...

But luckily I didn't pile my plates larr.. those guys cannot eat one lorr... I was the first one to eat, and the last one to finish.. everyone was like looking at me eating lorr... AND I haven't even started on my dessert yet!! Next time must chio Arica liao.. then I won't be so paiseh.. hehehehe..

A colleague called me 'kam chek' the next day.. Super walau.. but he got a beating from me for calling me that! HAHAHAH!!

Organised a durian feast last Sunday, the day after Rayden's birthday party.. Thanks to Arica for 'volunteering' her place for the gathering.. hehehe.. her poor maid.. kena clean up the tsunami-like mess for 2 days straight...

But then, I was damn disappointed, as the Mao Shan Wang I wanted was not available!! SOB!! SOB!!! Super KNS lorrr...

Got a Sg line liao... bought a Nokia 6500 slide yesterday at S$48 with a M1 2-year plan.

Balik-balik M1 and 6500... was looking at it since like 2 weeks ago? M1 was offering it at S$68, with FOC bluetooth, while Singtel's offer was S$48.. was thinking of signing up for the Singtel line, but the same phone cost so much more now..

Oh well....

I've sent sms to most of my contacts, but it seems like some ppl didn't get it.. dunno why.. I've also email to my contacts and left a message on my IM + GTalk liao.. so if anyone is still LEFT OUT (which I seriously doubt so), please drop me an email and I will send you the number.. Drama @ Causeway

Driving in and out of Singapore on a daily basis, I get to 'witness' drama.. hahaha.. make the ride more interesting..

Pajero tried to cut into my lane, and I refused to let him... so both of us stuck very closely to the car in front. In the end, the Pajero grazed the car in front. Huak huak huak... and I quickly drove off when the driver of the front car came out to confront the driver of the Pajero. The Pajero was right behind me when we passed the SG immigration, and I thought he might smash my car when we clear the JB side, but then, he kena stopped by the officers just after the checkpoint. Heng arrr... hahahah.. he must've hated me for not letting him pass!!

I saw a car driving pass a taxi, and knocked on the bumper of the taxi... but the driver just drove on, zooming pass all vehicles. By the time the taxi driver got out, the car was nowhere to be seen liao! SO jialat!!

Was driving in to Sg, when I just passed the JB customs... as usual, all cars were very near to each other, when the car beside me honked at me.. I look at him and was wondering : first time driving in causeway?? Hahaahahah... normal what... all cars drive very near to each other what.... Then I saw the car plate.. NEW CAR LORRR... no wonder so kan cheong... hahahah

Everyday also so dramatic... I think my life would be so boring if I were to move in to sg!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Saw TB and his beloved some time back...

I feel like I'm insulting my own intelligence by just talking to him.. Never seen a more childish and narrow minded man. Wonders what his beloved sees in him...

One of the thing that irritates me is that he thinks all our work are easy and his, hard.. My question to him is : If you think you are working hard, and the rest of us are shaking legs at our offices, don't you think you are REALLY STUPID? You should look for a job similar to ours, so that you can have an easy life too!!!

Reached there around 1pm and went for lunch with es Lee and her A-Niu ge...

Went back to Ses Lee's mother place to sit around and chit-chat.

Her baby needs to be carried and walked around all the time.. Like someone's baby too lehhh.. hahahaha.. I told Ses Lee, "Good luck to you horr!!"

People also quite loaded liao lehh.. ask me want to go Melbourne in Sept/Oct this year or not... I no leave and $$$ lorr.... Jialat... She thinks me now earning SGD very rich liao... hahahaahah...

Mother & Daughter

Was supposed to leave at 4.30pm, but the moment the clock stuck 4.30pm, it started to rain cats and dogs lorr!!

In the end, we stayed for dinner (paiseh-paiseh) and left around 6.15pm. I told Vince no need to wait till 6.30pm, later it starts to rain again!! Hahahahahah....

Fast & Furious

Went for dinner with Arica on Friday night, at Ikoi, Miramar Hotel. Our friend IMed me around 8pm to tell me she has craving for sashimi lorrr... Walau...

So, I had to drive there myself, since it's quite stupid to ask her to come all the way to my office to fetch me, since Ikoi is very near to her workplace.

As usual, I got lost, and turned into a one-way street!! Walau lorr... luckily the on-coming car was driving very slowly (the traffic lights on their side was red) and managed to swerve into the next lane. Heng I was driving a JB car plate car.. Otherwise mesti kena honked like nobody business... hehehehe...

Anyway, I think I overshot by a longggggg way, and turned back in to CTE. I missed the turn (stupid trees covered part of the signboard) and exited at the next turn. I was practically driving aimlessly, and saw River Valley Road, which I remember seeing on the map. So I checked my street directory again and managed to get to Miramar Hotel in one piece. Hehheheeh... not bad lehhh...

Anyway, our friend who works across the street was not there yet, despite me wasting some time by getting lost!! Hahaahhahah...

We managed to start our dinner at around 9.30pm and boy, the waitress must have thought we were 2 hungry souls! We ordered so much at once and ate so fast! After a while, Arica said she full liao.. I asked her, " You can full one mehh?" Moni also asked the same question when I told her the next day!! HAHAAHAHAH!!!

I think maybe we ate too fast, that's why so fast full liao... like I said, FAST & FURIOUS marr... hahaahah....

Update - 1 Month Liao

Wahh... time really flies lorr...

Been traveling in and out of sg for 1 month liao, and I'm still alive!! haahahahah...

So for now, my weekdays are usually get up for work, come back and sleep... and any other stuff are packed into Sats and Suns. No life horrr... hence, the lack of update too.. heheehhe...

Anyway, I met up with Arica + family for dinner last week, at Kenny Rogers, Tebrau City. Guess what, the service SUCKS BIG TIME!!!

I arrived at the restaurant first, and found a seat for 6 pax (there wasn't anyone at the counter, so I just walked in since it was not crowded at all). After a while, I saw a waitress walked hurriedly towards me and said, "This is a table for 6 pax". I was a bit taken aback by her 'straight-forwardness' (ie, RUDENESS) and lack of common sense lorr... She could have asked me how many people were in my group first, before telling me straight that I'm occupying a table for six. HELLO!! I know it's a table for 6. Do you think I would sit at a large table if I was dining alone??

Anyway, I ordered a drink first. When Arica arrived, we changed table as she felt the table was too big. We saw smaller table being cleared and waited for the waitress to finish cleaning up. And you know what, she actually swept whatever stuff that was on the table onto the floor!! So teruk lorr... I told Arica that maybe her previous job was at a mamak stall..haiii... So, as we sitting comfortably at our new table, the waitress (who took my drink order) served my drink on the previous table and walked away! I was like walau lorr... She didn't even make the effort to look around for me. What if I had decided not to eat there and just walked out? Leave the drink there for what?

And we had to like wave our hands numerous times just to get the attention of the serving staff. If it was very crowded, I would have understand. But there's barely a few tables open, and most of the serving staff were standing at the food counter, instead of serving the diners. The table next to us (who came after we placed our orders), did not get their food even after we had finished ours!

We even walked over to the counter and informed them of our table number to pay the bills. Didn't bother to ask the waiting staff to get our bills, as none was around. And the best part was, they undercharged us! They did not charge us for the drinks, the side dishes and one of the main courses. Can you believe that? And I repeat, THE RESTAURANT WAS NOT CROWDED AT ALL

All I can say is that the service staff has that lackadaisical attitude. They just don't care at all!!

I Need a New Brain....

I seriously think I need a new brain... SO VERY THE ABSENT-MINDED LORRRRRR!!

I was driving around on Saturday, meeting friends for lunch, shopping at Jusco, and then went to my bro's house for his daughter's full month celebration..... all the while WITHOUT MY DRIVING LICENSE and IC!!!! Super duper damn jialat lorrrr....

Walau... I only realised it when the security guards at the entrance of my bro's house asked me for my license. Luckily I remembered I left it in the other bag. Otherwise I will panic like hell lorr...

Then today, I called Moni for lunch at Taman Molek. When I took out my wallet to pay for the bill, I realised my license was not there!! Walau lor... I started to panic liao... Moni asked me whether the security guards at her house gave me back my license when I left her place, I wasn't sure myself!!

We searched the car and I thought I felt something plastic when I opened my car door when we first arrive at the bistro, so I may have dropped it on the floor. But we searched around the area, could not find it. Haiii.. Moni thought my license could have been still at the security post. So, no choice lorr.. Moni had to drive my manual car back to her house!! HAHAAHAAHAHAHA...

Anyway, reached there, could not find it either... damn sien liao.... So Moni drove me to the police station to make a report. On the way there, I managed to get Lavender's phone number and called to see if anyone had seen my license. Thank God the girl told me my license is there!!! Moni then drove me back to the bistro!! Hahaahahahah...

Very super jialat horr me.... haiiiii...

2nd Week

I've passed the critical 1st week in sg, and now the 2nd... so far so good lor.. heheheeheh...

As Monday was a Public Holiday, I've expected the traffic to be really bad on Tuesday morning. And since I have to be in office by 7.30am, I told Moni that I'll drive Vince in at 5.00am.. damn jialat horrr...

Unexpectedly, we cleared customs before 6am!! Damn early lor... we walked around Woodlands and I watched Vince had his breakfast, before driving off to my office. I reach my office at 6.30am lorr.. damn early lorr... sooooo sleepy.....

The rest of the week went by very fast, and as I was staying in sg for the week, can work a bit late only go home lor.. hehehehe.. Also, met up with A-Tan, my colleague from a previous company. Talked about the difference of working in JB and sg, and also to catch up on old times lorrr... hahahhahah....

Finally came back to JB on Friday night (actually midnight liao).. and you know what?? It felt like I have been away for months lorr!! Haahahah.. No life in sg lehhhh...

Passing of a Friend

I heard that a friend of mine from KL has passed away on Saturday morning, in his sleep. Apparently due to heart failure.

So sad...

I've known him since my college days in KL and everytime I meet him in KL, he will buy me and/or my friends good meals...

His daughter is still very young, and it's sad to hear friends my age pass away so suddenly... but I'm also kinda relieved that he died peacefully and not from any long suffering diseases like cancer and such...

I guess we'll have to make more time for friends and family, and not just put all our hearts and souls into work. Health is more important than money lorrr..

The Past Week

As some of you may have already know, I have already started on my new job last Monday.

Traffic was extremely smooth for me, as on normal days, I managed to get to my office within 1 hour 15 mins. The longest time I took was 1 1/2 hour. Coming back also bout the same. Not too bad lorr...

I guess I can say that the working environment is quite good, as it's a smaller office set up compared to my previous 2 jobs, obviously there's zero office politics (hopefully)!! HAHAHAHA.. And it didn't felt like a drag to go to work every morning... you know, when you are getting sien at a job, you don't feel like going to work every single morning, and you're like practically dragging yourself to work.

And also I didn't kena boycott!! heheheheh..

Many new skills to pick up, and I'm still getting used to job scope as it's VERY different from what I have been doing for the past 11 years..

Will try and see how it goes in the following months...

Went to sg today... managed to clear sg customs by 9am!! Early horrr.... traffic was rather smooth larr....

But the traffic was terrible on the way back... I think I was caught in the traffic for more than an hour... Haiiii..... This is just the beginning.... wonder what will happen on Monday...

Anyway, called YW after I cleared the JB customs, and we met up at Coffee Bean @ PP.. Didn't know Coffee Bean cost so much nowadays.. heheheh.... Chatted and shopped for a while, and we went on our separate ways. By the way, the cake I had soooo jelak lorr.. but I still finished it... then arrr... walked for a while wanna vomit liao!!! HAHAAHAHAHA... And also arr... met my Da Lau Gong!!!! Also arrr... EVERYONE went HARRR??? when I told them I will be driving in to sg everyday... What to do?? Haiiii.... Wish me luck horrr....

Went to Taman Molek and Johor Jaya after that, to pay my credit card bills and bought some stuff..

And then while on the way back, I saw DD, an ex-colleague... I called her on my mobile... and then, after I turned out from the tunnel (from JJ to Mt Austin) I saw 'white legs'!!! ADOI!!!!

Reminds me of an incident few years back... you know the road in front of P.P.? The left lane is for cars turning left only. But on earlier days, the left lane also can be used for going straight ahead... so me, not driving to town for so long liao.. took that lane and cut in just before the traffic lights.. and then, I saw a police motorbike just behind me lorr!! Damn suei man...

So, I kena pulled over (that time I was still driving my dad's lau pok pok). The officer asked me why I cut in like that.. I told him I dun live in that area, and I seldom drive to town, that's why I didn't know the change.. He asked me where I lived and also to show him my licence... as I told him I stayed in Taman Daya and handed him by licence, I realised the address shown was my old address, which was in town area lorr!! WALAU!!!!

He looked at me and I 'te-gong'.. Luckily he let me off with a warning only.. maybe he see my car so old liao (almost as old as me lorr) and so decided to let me off!! Heheeheheh...

Damn damn damn tired....

Went in to Singapore for a few times, for 'blind dates' (or partially blind.. hehehehe) and other matters.

AND SO... it's official... I will join the thousands of people who travel the causeway daily, but I will be driving larr... A bit 'zhong ben', I know... but I guess I wouldn't want to risk myself getting mugged while walking late at night to get my car. I guess my life is worth more than the S$20 I need to pay daily.. heheheheeh.. Will see how it goes lar...

ANYWAY.....

We had an 'IM-frenzy' over the week, as I was told that someone is planning to get married... So, I got excited, and called for a meeting!! heheheheheehehe.... Someone said I ting tong lorrrr..

Ei, now I volunteer to help, ok.. and I don't volunteer to any a-te, a-kau horrr... And I did it all because of my dearest ALAN lorrr.. hahahahah

Oh ya.. before I forget.. that YW arr.. made me carry 7 X 1.5 liters of green tea from a supermarket in Woodlands to my car lorrr.. When Moni said carrying 10 bottles of 1.5 litre water is no joke, even for a 10 minutes walk, YW can somemore say, "Ei!! 7 bottles ONLY horrr" Walau lorrrr.... And she added, "ALAN likes to drink it lorr" Win liao lorrr!! Use ALAN now...

Ok, back to the topic..

As I was saying.... we (or rather ME) asked the usual 38 queens out for a meeting. Moni made the arrangement, as I was in Singapore on Friday. Off topic again, you know what happened? I was at Arica's house having durian on Thursday. She told me she has no chopper and I brought mine. And then, I forgot I left the chopper in my car boot when I went in to Singapore on Friday!!! Luckily it was wrapped in a towel, and the officer didn't question me about it lorr.. HENG ARRR!!

OK, OK... back to the topic... And so....

She dropped us near Borders @ Orchard Road and I brought him to Kino first.. then, I was thinking of bringing him to see fish at the aquarium in Wisma Atria. So we walked over to Atria for lunch and went to the basement after that. And you know what?? THe aquarium was closed lorr!!! WALAU LORRRR... We had to walked back to Taka and I brought him to the toys department. Poor boy lorrr...

Never, ever trust me with children horr... I am a 'lu chi'.. Dunno where am I most of the time... heheheehheheh...

I think humility is really a virtue, and it amazes me how some people can OVER-RATE themselves by soooooo much...

It becomes a joke, you know.. when you are OBVIOUSLY offering yourself on a silver platter AND still trying to state all the terms.. WTF? With your thicker-than-elephant-skin, you can still read out loud ALL your so-called strong points to support your claims. And when kena rejected, you can STILL ask for favours by continuously telling other people about your worthiness and how you rejected other higher offers!!! AND still state your terms, albeit a few amendments larr.. WHAT A JOKE LORRRR!!!

Please, please, please.. do yourself a favour.... and save all of us from dying of laughter... look at yourself in the mirror horrr... If you are really that good, you don't have to say a single word, people will still know one.. otherwise, no amount of 'self-selling' or rather, 'up-selling', is gonna help lorrr.. You are just embarrassing yourself, by making you the butt of our jokes!!!

Meeting a Pastor

Since I am super 'eng' this month, I called up Val to 'lim teh' after my interview I think earlier this month.

As we were chatting, I mentioned to her that I'm thinking of using my CPF savings to invest in unit trust. She told me her Pastor, who's based in KL is into that business. And so she called him and gave him my contact.

I was a bit skeptical at first, cause I don't exactly have millions in my CPF account and why would anyone come all the way from KL to JB just to discuss business with someone who just has peanuts to invest.. heheheheh...

Anyway, we agreed to meet up at Jusco Tebrau City yesterday. He arrived first, and he called me to tell me where he was. I reached there, expecting to see an Indian, cause his name is Sonny, and he sounded like an Indian Pastor... but it turned out that he's a Chinese!!!! HAHAAHAHAH!!!

And you know what, after chatting with him for like 2 or 3 hours at Lavendar, he not only convinced me to invest my CPF savings with him, I would most probably buy not 1, but 2 insurance policies from him.. plus 1 more investment/savings plan!!! Walau lorrr...

And the best part is, he asked me to join him as his agent, and I actually considered it lorrr!! If other people were to ask me that, I would have turned him / her down flatly!!!

He is that CONVINCING lorrrr... I mean, most of the 'financial planners' I met is only interested in earning your commission, and selling insurance policies that we can afford to pay to the max; meaning : squeeze us dry dry... Most of them never bother to explain the fine lines and after selling the policies to you, they disappear into thin air.

But him... the way he explained it, doesn't sounds like he's selling insurance to me.. and he actually illustrated the investment scheme to me, using layman's term. Rather than some other agents who just pile me with their investment brochures which I can't comprehend.. who read those anyway??!!!

Oh well... since now I'm jobless, I didn't commit much, and he also didn't push me; in fact, he advised me to start only after I found myself a job.

So if you guys have any spare cash to invest (apparently the returns are better than CPF) for long term (10 - 20 years maybe) can call up Val or me for his contact. Yeahhhh.. I like him this much to actually spread the news around!!! Hahahaahhaha....

Gathering over a Steamboat Dinner

What was supposed to be a 'simple' dinner turned out to be a gathering cum Roel's 'surprise' birthday party... heheheh...

Actually, what happened was I had lunch with BJ and YC last Wednesday. We were chatting over bowls of ice kacangs.. By the way, I LURVVEEEE the ice kacang at San Low (the one that Arica 'tua' me to Holland, remember??). They give generous amount of thick cocoa syrup, unlike those you find at those food courts, where they only serve REALLY diluted syrup.. AND NO REFILL!! Walau.. like eating ice only...

Anyway I asked the girls whether they want to come over to my house for dinner on Saturday, as I suddenly feel like cooking Chicken Curry.. I told them it's just a 'simple' dinner.. dun expect too much hor... hehehe..

Then when I got back, I IMed Moni and YW asking them to come as well... and then Arica came online and asked her as well.. It turn out ALL of them can make it, and it makes more sense to do steamboat instead!! hahahahhaha.. too many people liao... I can't cook for so many people at once lehh... skills not up to standard yet lorrr...

Halfway chatting with Arica, I remembered Roel's birthday was just a few days before Saturday, and decided to surprise him with a cake lorr.... heheehhe.. And so it became a last minute surprised party lorr!! HAhahaahah

I have been having problems with my internet connection lately.. I kept getting disconnected every now and then, especially during thunderstorm.... Damn jialat lorrr....

Called the Streamyx helpline, but didn't get much help lorr.. the person I talked to used all the technical terms that I know nothing about and I got so blur!!

Anyway, today was lagi worse, I think I got disconnected every 15 - 30 mins.. and I had to restart my pc cause my IM keeps hanging due to the constant disconnection, I think...

And so, I got so fedup, I put this up on my IM message : I HATE STREAMYX!!!!
